Acute Medical Services is seeking the top Paramedics to join our team. Acute Medical Services is a high-performance EMS system that does not perform repetitive type transports like Dialysis or Wound Care. This position requires a personal commitment to Acute Medical Services mission and core values and the willingness to demonstrate those core values in all activities performed for Acute Medical Services or while representing Acute Medical Services. The recipients of this position are active participants in the organization and support changes necessary for the organization’s success.

The Paramedic and Attendant will work together as a team with the assistance of Dispatchers to provide emergency and non-emergency transport services by ground critical care. The crew staff a variety of shifts which include 24-hour, day, night and weekend shifts at all station locations.


The Paramedic cares for critically ill or injured patients. He/she performs the technical procedures/tasks safely (without causing harm), legally (complies with policy/law), efficiently (uses resources appropriately) and effectively (achieves the intended outcome).

Assures compliance with all applicable standards by maintaining a thorough working knowledge of advanced clinical procedures, patient care protocols, ambulance safety, radio communications, medical equipment, and continuous quality improvement and management initiatives.

Participates in daily shift duties to maintain the medical component of the Ambulance equipment and supplies in a state of response readiness to respond immediately to transport requests. Attends all mandatory in-services including staff meetings, procedure labs and training offerings.

Customer Service:

The Ambulance Crew is responsible for fostering and developing positive collaboration between Acute Medical Services and their internal and external customers. He/she ensures the positive image of Acute Medical Services. Crews will be the ears and eyes for new business opportunities and will work together with Business Development to insure our organization continues to grow

Accommodates family members to the extent possible without jeopardizing the safety of the patient transport.

Urgency and Response Readiness:

The Paramedic Crew will consistently respond to mission requests safely and urgently. Transporting patients to definitive care will be accomplished safely and urgently.

Maintains operational readiness by completing transports efficiently, prepare to accept multiple missions, rapidly turn after missions, and minimize out of service time.

Provides professional, timely, and thorough responses to external customers, peers, supervisors, and management. Completes all required assignments on time, or ahead of schedule.

Quality Assurance/Improvement:

The Paramedic will consistently render the highest quality patient care in a professional, expeditious, and comprehensive manner.

Actively participates in quality assurance/improvement activities as directed by their supervisor. Each incumbent will acquaint themselves with the quality assurance surveys and/or quality improvement projects which affect their practice and adhere to the standards or changes implemented. Each crew member will provide feedback in a positive proactive manner on quality assurance/improvement activities which impact their practice.

Fiscal Responsibility:

The Paramedic will diligently complete patient care records that are thorough, accurate and submitted correctly. The Paramedic and Attendant will complete reports according to the ICD10 Format and compliance and will correct and deficiencies found by our compliance department promptly.

Identifies efficient or cost saving ideas in a timely manner to their immediate supervisor. He/she will ensure that their time and attendance record is accurate and completed on a timely basis.

Utilizes their free time while on duty to improve their professional skills, participates in work related projects and completes mandatory job requirements, and insures ambulance is in the best condition possible for next assignment.


The Paramedic will strive to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality. Must work together with many other health professionals to coordinate the transport mission and deliver appropriate, quality patient care.

Will be supportive of diversity within the work setting and will address co-workers in a respectful manner at all times. Personal issues will be addressed outside the workplace.

Will deliver constructive criticism of co-workers or supervisors in a private setting and will be delivered in a positive and respectful manner.

Promotes teamwork by being involved in committees, special projects and educational offerings to enhance the overall operation of the program. Focuses efforts on supporting the growth and development of their co-workers at all times.


The Paramedic will manage his/her time appropriately to ensure that all areas of their job responsibilities are adequately covered. Actively seeks out additional assignments or assists co-workers with their tasks when they have completed their assigned tasks.

Has active listening skills. Communicates to co-workers and the public in a clear, concise and positive manner, both orally and in writing.

Demonstrates a positive approach to problem solving and utilizes the chain of command appropriately to resolve work related issues.

Maintains ethical, courteous and professional behavior, which reflects favorably on Acute Medical Services. Adheres to the Acute Medical Services. Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

Exhibits a positive attitude in support of Acute Medical Services and Acute Medical Services /hospital management. Refrains from making negative comments about Acute Medical Services, hospital and/or staff. Written and oral communications are clear, respectful, and concise.


-Currently holds certification or licensure in the State of Texas as a Paramedic and is in good standing with Texas Department of State Health Services

-Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS. If certifications have not been secured or expired takes the course inhouse with our training department within 120 days of employment

-Be able to pass Federal, State, Local Background Examination

-Out of State Paramedics will work under Reprosity

– Critical Care Paramedic: At least three years of experience in busy 911 systems, or at least 2 years’ experience working in a high call volume Emergency Room, or at least 2 years’ experience working within an Intensive Care setting or Have at minimal 5 years in a high performance ambulance system that has protocols therapies in the following: Mechanical Ventilation, IV Pump Administration, Balloon Pump Transports, Blood Product Transfusions, 12 Lead ECG Monitoring, Invasive Line Monitoring, and LVAD monitoring. The Critical Care Paramedic must possess (FPC, CCEMT-P, or pass and be proficient in the Medical Directors Review Exam and be permitted to work and perform at the level of the CCP)

-Senior Paramedic: At least three years of experience in busy 911 systems, or at least 2 years’ experience working in a high call volume Emergency Room, or Have at minimal 2 years in a high-performance ambulance system that has protocols therapies in the following: Mechanical Ventilation, IV Pump Administration, Balloon Pump Transports, Blood Product Transfusions, 12 Lead ECG Monitoring, Invasive Line Monitoring, and LVAD monitoring

-Entry Level Paramedic: Have graduated within the top 15% of his class, have completed all AHA card classes, have completed at minimal 1 pediatric advanced course, have completed at minimal 1 trauma
